Sailing alongside HMCS Toronto on Sept. 20, 2007, as they prepare to begin a piracy interdiction patrol in Somali waters are, left to right, Germany's FGS Spessart, the USS Bainbridge and the Netherlands' HMNLS Everston. Toronto was deployed in July 2007 and is to return home to Halifax in December. Her duties include monitoring shipping, escorting non-military ships and operating to help detect, deter and protect against terrorist activity.
